Esther Aloku is a wedding photographer known for capturing intimate moments and cinematic storytelling. Her website serves as a streamlined portfolio and booking platform, showcasing her best work and the stories behind each shoot.
(MY APPROACH)
I focused on crafting a clean, image-first experience that puts Esther’s photography front-and-center. Key parts of the approach included:
Prioritizing high-impact hero imagery and full-bleed galleries for emotional engagement.
Designing a simple, scannable information hierarchy so visitors can move from gallery → package → booking quickly.
Optimizing the site for mobile-first browsing (most clients research on phones) while keeping desktop layouts cinematic.
Using subtle motion to guide attention without distracting from photography.
(VISION & INNOVATION)
The vision was to transform the website into a dynamic portfolio resembling a curated magazine: visually stunning, editorial, and professional.
The focus was on beauty and functionality, blending storytelling galleries with efficient booking funnels and fast image delivery for an optimal user experience.
(CHALLENGES)
Here are some challenges we encountered:
Time constraint: Deliver a polished site in one week while preserving image quality..
Conversion focus: Balancing a gallery-led experience with clear, trust-building CTAs to encourage bookings.
Emotional storytelling: Designing layouts that showcase both single moments and editorial stories consistently.
(PROBLEMS)
Some of the problems we addressed include:
Showcased work with impact — transformed raw shoots into curated narrative galleries that highlight Esther’s style.
Clear booking path — created a concise, frictionless booking flow that reduces steps from discovery to consultation.
Trust & credibility — added a structured portfolio + testimonials area to build confidence in new clients.
(USER-CENTRIC DESIGN)
For couples / clients: Large, emotion-driven imagery, easy-to-skim galleries, and a clear “Check Availability” CTA on every page.
For Esther (the photographer): A simple CMS-ready portfolio structure to add new weddings, reorder galleries, and update packages without developer help.
Microcopy & visuals: Carefully chosen captions, image sequencing, and whitespace to reinforce the feeling of a bespoke photography service.
(USER NEEDS)
Prospective clients need: visual proof of style, quick access to pricing/packages, and a low-friction way to book or inquire.
The photographer needs: a platform that elevates brand perception, captures leads, and is easy to update between shoots.
The site delivers both: it emotionally engages visitors while converting interest into bookings.
